voestalpine Ups R&D Investment
10/10/2022 - voestalpine has set a research and development budget of EUR196 million for this fiscal year, a record for the company as it seeks to digitalize production and adopt climate-neutral steelmaking processes.
“Research and development plays a major role at voestalpine, a fact that is reflected in this year’s record budget of EUR196 million. By consistently investing in new products and processes, we are solidifying our position as a global player in demanding product segments. Another research focus is greentec steel. We also want to be the quality leader in future green steel production,” said voestalpine chief executive Herbert Eibensteiner.
Among the priorities, the company said, will be to develop processes that ensure high-quality steel production with a different raw material mix.
