voestalpine Turns to Primetals Technologies for Galvanizing Line Revamp
09/13/2022 - voestalpine has contracted Primetals Technologies to modernize the Nos. 3 and 4 hot-dipped galvanizing lines at its Linz facility in Austria, the equipment builder has announced.
In a statement, Primetals Technologies said its scope of work calls for an overhaul of the electrical, drive, and automation systems on the No. 4 line and a modernization of the electrical and automation systems on the No. 3 line.
voestalpine has said the EUR100 million project is meant to ensure that it can produce all of the major steel grades that are mainly used in the premium automotive industry and can meet the most stringent quality requirements.
“Thanks to this investment, the plant will be able to produce steel grades with higher strengths, improved elongation values, and a wider range of dimensions for the automotive industry,” Primetals Technologies said in a statement.
