According to ANDRITZ, the order is part of the “BETA 3” project for an integrated pickling plant in voestalpine’s cold rolling mill #3 in Linz, Austria.
 
ANDRITZ’s scope of supply includes the design, engineering, construction, start-up work and optimization support.
 
The 2-million-tons-per-year continuous pickling plant will process advanced steel grades.
 
The acid regeneration plant will meet strict requirements for exhaust gas treatment and wastewater and will be capable of achieving recovery rates of almost 100%.
 
A separate acid purification plant will also be installed. Systems for removing silicon from the acid loops will contribute toward ensuring smooth operation and high availability.
 
The plants are scheduled to start up at the end of 2023.
