Vietnamese Steelmakers Will Be Held to Environmental Standards, Official Promises
09/09/2016 - A Vietnamese official said the country will strictly enforce environmental rules among its steelmakers to environmental rules and encourage the eventual closure of smaller operations that use outdated and polluting technology, reports the VnExpress newspaper.
“(We will) strictly handle (violations) or even halt operations at any steel plant that can’t meet environmental standards,” Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung said at a meeting to discuss the country's steel industry, the publication reported.
