Vallourec Names Chief Digital Officer
04/28/2017 - French tubemaker Vallourec has appointed Barthélémy Longueville as its chief digital officer, the company has announced.
In his new role, he will oversee Vallourec’s digital strategy, which has three goals: to connect customers with Vallourec plants and products; to optimize production facilities through data; and to create a digital culture in the company.
"Vallourec has already begun its digital transformation. We now have modern production facilities and a high degree of automation. Now that the review stage has been completed and has confirmed this momentum, our goal is to speed up the development and commercialization of innovations that have already been identified and show the most promise," he said.
Longueville joined Vallourec in 2006, and since 2009 has been based in Shanghai, where he was in charge of industrial and commercial operations for Vallourec's power generation division there.
He is a graduate of the French university Ecole Normale Supérieure and holds a doctorate from Paris' Ecole Centrale engineering school.
