VAII to Install Temper Mill at SDI’s Jeffersonville Galv Line
Jan. 16, 2004 — Steel Dynamics Inc. has awarded VAII Inc. a contract for supply of a new Temper Mill at SDI’s Jeffersonville, Ind., facility.
The new temper mill will replace an existing mill on SDI’s galvanizing line at the facility. This galvanizing line was formerly the GalvPro facility prior to SDI’s acquisition of the plant earlier this year.
The temper mill will include a new roll polisher system designed with VAII’s Roll Brite™ Technology. A new, innovative work roll change system will also be supplied, incorporating VAII’s Roto Table™ Technology, providing SDI with a unique, fast and reliable roll change system which will operate during line operation.
The contract includes supply of the mill mechanical equipment, hydraulics, automation services, and site-commissioning assistance. The project will be managed by VAII’s North American office and will be executed within six month’s time.
