VAI recently recorded successful orders valued at approximately 26 million euro for its subsidiary VAI Pomini.

VAI Pomini will supply Viraj Profiles Ltd., India, with a wire mill for stainless steels and high-grade steels, including water quenching and cooling units.

VAI Pomini will supply Union Iron & Steel Llc, Abu Dhabi, with a section mill with an annual capacity of 300,000 tonnes. The smaller dimensions, from 8 to 12 mm, will be produced using the 2- and 3-slit method. Scope of supply encompasses the mechanical and electrical equipment, reheating furnaces, automation and water treatment plant.

VAI Pomini is also constructing a new 4-strand billet caster for high-grade and carbon steels for Leipaja, Latvia. Among others things, VAI Pomini will supply a hydraulic mold oscillator (Dynaflex), the VAI Diamond high-speed mold, and the water treatment.
