VAI Consortium to Supply Continuous Annealing Line to Rasselstein Hoesch
Jan. 23, 2004 — Rasselstein Hoesch, Germany, recently awarded a consortium comprising the consortium-leader Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau (VAI) and Drever a contract for the supply of a new continuous annealing line at their Andernach Works in Germany.
The project scope includes supply of mechanical equipment and automation systems as well as supervision of erection and start-up (process turnkey). Electrical equipment will be supplied by VA Tech Elin EBG. The 360,000 tonne per year annealing line will be used for the processing of pre-material for the production of tinplate at speeds of up to 700 meters per minute, thicknesses from 0.15 to 0.3 mm and widths from 800 to 1,400 mm.
Plant takeover by Rasselstein Hoesch is scheduled for December 2005.
