USW Ratifies New Contract with Ohio Coatings Company

Oct. 12, 2006 — Ohio Coatings Co. hourly employees have voted to ratify a contract with the company that will run through Oct. 31, 2010.

"We are pleased to have a fair and equitable agreement in place," said Greg Burwell as the Unit Chairman, USW Local 1223-02.

"The contract sets a solid framework for the future growth and success of the company," added Jim Tennant, President of Ohio Coatings.

The vote for the forty-five hourly employees represented by the United Steelworkers was held on Friday, Oct. 6. The new contract goes into effect on November 1, 2006.


Established in 1995, Ohio Coatings Co. is a premier tin coating facility jointly owned by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. and TCC Steel of Seoul, South Korea.
