US$260 Million Investment to Boost Ternium Coating Capacity in Mexico
03/17/2017 - Ternium plans to invest US$260 million in a new hot-dip galvanizing line and a pre-painting line at its Pesquería plant in Mexico, the company has announced.
“This new high-value-added processing capacity will support Ternium’s leading position as a steel supplier to the growing household appliances, lightning and metal-mechanic industries in Mexico and will broaden the company’s product range,” the company said in a statement.
The galvanizing line will give Ternium an additional 300,000 metric tons of galvanizing capacity in Mexico, boosting its capabilities there by 17%. The new pre-painting line, meanwhile, will give it an extra 120,000 metric tons of capacity, an increase of 20%.
The new lines are to be put into serviced by 2020.
