Universal Stainless to Increase Tool Steel and Premium Melt Prices

Feb. 28, 2006 — Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. announced base price increases on tool steel plate products and on all premium melted steels, including vacuum-arc and electro-slag remelted steels.

Tool steel plate product prices will increase 5% and premium melted steel prices will increase 8%. The price changes are effective with shipments scheduled for March 13, 2006.

Dudley J. Merchant, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, commented: "The base price increases are necessary to recover rising energy and manufacturing supply costs while enabling us to continue our reinvestment in equipment and facilities to better serve the needs of our customers."
