Universal Stainless Increases Base Price
04/21/2009 - Universal Stainless & Alloy Products will increase base prices by $0.05 per pound on all air-melted stainless bar products manufactured at its Dunkirk facility.
Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. announced a base price increase of $0.05 per pound on all air-melted stainless bar products manufactured at its Dunkirk facility.
“The price adjustment is necessary in response to increased costs associated with lower operating mill levels,” said Chris Zimmer, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “This action will also enable us to continue our reinvestment in equipment and facilities to better serve our customers.”
The company said the increase would be effective immediately for all new orders. Published material and energy surcharges are to remain in effect.
Headquartered in Bridgeville, Pa., Universal Stainless & Alloy Products manufactures and markets a broad line of semi-finished and finished specialty steels, including stainless steel, tool steel and certain other alloyed steels. The Company's products are sold to rerollers, forgers, service centers, original equipment manufacturers and wire redrawers.
