United States Steel Names Vice President and Treasurer
09/20/2004 - United States Steel Corp. Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer Gretchen R. Haggerty announced that Larry T. Brockway has been named Vice President & Treasurer effective October 1, responsible for all treasury functions. Brockway will continue to report to Haggerty, who formerly held the position.

Brockway has been named Vice President & Treasurer effective October 1, responsible for all treasury functions. Brockway will continue to report to Haggerty, who formerly held the position.
"Larry's financial experience is both broad and deep," said Haggerty. "His demonstrated financial expertise and leadership, and his skillful handling of many complex financial issues such as those associated with our recent consolidation efforts, have made him an outstanding choice for this critically important position."
Brockway, 44, is a native of Ashtabula, Ohio, and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He began his career in 1982 as an accountant with Marathon Oil Company in Findlay, Ohio, and held various accounting posts there and in Marathon's Houston, Texas, office. He was transferred to USX Corp.'s Pittsburgh headquarters in 1997 when he was appointed Manager—Structured Finance. He was named Director—Corporate Finance in 2000 and was appointed Director—Strategic Planning later that year. In 2002, he was named to his most recent position, Assistant Treasurer—Corporate Finance for United States Steel Corp.
