Union Remains Hopeful for Deal to Save Hamilton Specialty Bar
03/29/2018 - Even as Canadian SBQ manufacturer Hamilton Specialty Bar (2007) Inc. faces liquidation, talks are continuing with a potential buyer who intends to continue operating the business, and the United Steelworkers union remains optimistic that a deal can be struck, reports Canadian news radio station AM900 CHML.
According to the station, the Steelworkers Local 4752 is continuing to talk to investor Keshav Lall and his firm, KAL Advisory Partners, about buying Hamilton Bar.
The business was placed into receivership in January, and the Toronto court overseeing the case had given a 26 March deadline for going-concern offers for the business. KAL Advisory Partners was unable to finalize an offer by the deadline.
