Unilux Names New Managers
03/29/2013 - Unilux has named Carolyn Gould to the newly created position of supply chain manager and promoted Carlos Tulli to inventory control manager.
Unilux has named Carolyn Gould to the newly created position of supply chain manager and promoted Carlos Tulli to inventory control manager. The moves come as the company expands production of its new Unilux2000-Series LED strobe lights.
"Just as we help our customers make their products more cost-efficiently and time-efficiently, Carolyn's addition enables us to tighten our supply chain to serve them better," said Mike Simonis, president, Unilux. "As our products incorporate more technology for a cost-conscious customer base, her expertise will help us get leaner and faster wherever we can. Promoting Carlos to inventory control manager is a related step in making sure that we are prepared to meet all of our production needs."
Gould, a 25-year veteran of supply chain planning and logistics, comes to Unilux from Tel-Instrument Electronics, an avionics testing equipment manufacturer in East Rutherford, NJ, where she was planning supervisor. She holds a Materials Management Certificate from Bloomfield (NJ) College and is a Certified Supply Chain Professional through APICS — The Association for Operations Management, where she has been active in the Northern New Jersey Chapter for her entire career.
Tulli, a five-year Unilux veteran, supervises a three-person department that is responsible for the flow of production parts for all Unilux products. He is implementing an automated inventory control system and is obtaining his Certified Production Inventory Management credentials.
Since joining Unilux, Gould has been forging new agreements with the company's suppliers to match parts inventories to production schedules.
"Making commitments on both sides gets everyone on the same page and ensures a good product flow for our manufacturing process," she said. "Unilux is a well-respected company, and our vendors want to work with us for everyone's success."
Unilux recently introduced its new LED2000-Series of LED strobe lights that combine the lower operating costs and environmental impact of LED technology with the power of traditional Xenon-based strobes. The company also is scaling up production of its Edge Tech edge inspection system for trimmed steel and other metal strip products. Unilux technology enables printing, converting and packaging producers and steel and paper mills to see flaws in real time at full production speeds.
Unilux Inc., headquartered in Saddle Brook, N.J., is celebrating 50 years of designing and manufacturing industrial surface inspection lighting systems for the textile, printing/converting, metals and papermaking industries and heavy-duty strobe lighting systems for the film and video industry. Unilux stroboscopic and pulsed LED inspection lights ranging from handheld, battery-powered units for spot or narrow-web inspection or maintenance or troubleshooting applications to fixed-mounted units capable of inspecting surfaces up to 12m wide either individually or in combination. Unilux currently has sales representatives in 42 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa along with five service centers worldwide.
