UGITECH USA to Add Two North American Stocking Locations

Specialty steels provider UGITECH USA, part of the Schmolz + Bickenbach Group, announced plans to expand its distribution network by adding stocking locations in Cleveland, Ohio, and Toronto, Ont., Canada.

"The Schmolz + Bickenbach Group is committed to growth in the North American market," said Tony Elfstrom, President and CEO. "Our investment in the two stocking locations, just months after the July 2007 launch of our new manufacturing and distribution facility in Batavia, Ill., clearly demonstrates our commitment to the market and our customers."

The two new stocking locations will complement company’s five existing locations in New Jersey, South Carolina, Illinois, Texas, and California. The Cleveland warehouse will be operational by January 1, 2008, and Ugitech product is scheduled to be in the Toronto warehouse, which is an existing Schmolz + Bickenbach facility, by the end of the first quarter of 2008.

"The expansion of stocking locations is a customer driven decision that will increase our service level and shorten delivery lead times to our customers," added Chris Zimmer, Vice President, Sales and Marketing.

UGITECH USA is the North American distribution arm of UGITECH, a stainless and nickel alloys long products division of Schmolz + Bickenbach AG. UGITECH USA has been directly servicing the U.S. market with strategically located stocking locations since 1990.
