UAW OKs Labor Agreement With AK Steel
06/04/2019 - Union workers at AK Steel Corp.’s Zanesville, Ohio, mill have ratified a three-year labor agreement with the company.
According to AK Steel, the new agreement with Local 4104 of the United Auto Workers will expire 31 May 2022. The agreement covers about 110 hourly production and maintenance workers.
"We are pleased to have reached a labor agreement at Zanesville Works for our employees,” said AK Steel chief executive Roger K. Newport. “The new agreement continues to provide a competitive and flexible labor contract for AK Steel and our Zanesville employees."
The new agreement replaces the previous four-year deal, which expired Friday. The Zanesville plant is a finishing shop for the company’s electrical and stainless steels.
