U.S. Won’t Immediately Reimpose 25% Tariffs on EU Steel
10/25/2023 - The U.S. would extend its suspension of a 25% tariff on steel from the European if negotiators need more time to set the Global Arrangement on Sustainable Steel and Aluminum, the U.S. ambassador to the EU has said, according to the Reuters news service.
"From the beginning, we have made clear to the EU that we intend to roll over our (tariff rate quotas) at the beginning of the year if we needed more time to negotiate," ambassador Mark Gitenstein said, according to Reuters.
