U.S. Trade Commission Affirms Duties on Certain Pipe and Tube Imports
08/17/2016 - The U.S. International Trade Commission has signed off on anti-dumping duties against imported heavy-walled, welded carbon pipe and tube from three countries.
In a 3-2 vote, the trade commissioners agreed that domestic producers have been materially injured by unfairly traded imports from South Korea, Mexico and Turkey.
The U.S. Commerce Department has already imposed anti-dumping duties of up to 35.7 percent on imports from the three countries and anti-subsidy duties of up to 23.4 percent on imported products from Turkey, according to the Reuters news service.
The case arose on a complaint last summer from several U.S. producers, including Atlas Tube, Bull Moose Tube Co., Hannibal Industries Inc. and Independence Tube Corp.
