U. S. Steel Turns to Danieli for Slab Caster Improvement
12/12/2019 - United States Steel Corporation will revamp the C Line slab caster at its Gary Works in Indiana following the successful installation and commissioning of Danieli stopper-rod control systems, mold-level control sensors and automation packages on other units.
According to Danieli, the prior upgrades, which entailed installation of Danieli’s HY-POWER® electrohydraulic stopper actuator, eddy current double coil mold level senor and Q-Level+ automation package, improved casting process stability on units at the Gary Works and at the Great Lakes Works in Michigan.
“U. S. Steel confirmed once again its trust in Danieli, deciding to convert the C Line caster at the Gary Works to the same flow technology,” Danieli said.
