U. S. Steel Presents 2007 Outstanding Supplier Awards

United States Steel Corp. has recognized seven North American-based suppliers with its "Outstanding Supplier" award for 2007.
 
Companies honored with the Outstanding Supplier award were selected for excellent performance in areas tied closely to U. S. Steel's key business drivers including safety, quality, cost, customer service and productivity. Awardees included:
 
  • Avalotis Corp.
  • Berry Metal Co.
  • Fosbel Inc.
  • Hewlett-Packard Co.
  • J.I.T. Steel Service, a Mapes & Sprowl Steel Co.
  • Kingston Resources, Inc., an affiliate of Foundation Coal Corp.
  • Praxair, Inc.
 "The world-class goods and services supplied by the seven recognized companies during the last 12 months have aided U. S. Steel's efforts to produce our own world-class products and remain a leader in a fiercely competitive global steel industry," said U. S. Steel Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer John Goodish, during an event held recently in Pittsburgh. Goodish presented awards to each of the awardees during the event.
 
"We thank them for their commitment to excellence and for their dedication to the working relationships we have forged together over time."
