U.S. Steel Plant Worker Crushed to Death By Truck; Homicide Investigation Launched

Jessica Strachan of the News Herald reports that the incident is being investigated as a homicide, and the driver, who is in custody, is expected to be charged. No other details were included in the report about the homicide investigation or whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

The paper writes that Heather Warren, 41, of  Inkster, was reportedly directing trucks in a loading area at about 1 p.m. when a semitruck backed into her, killing her instantly, according to her sister, Sheryl Warren. The truck driver was in custody.

“She was spotting a truck while another truck was waiting," the sister, Sheryl Warren told the paper.  "He backed up, he didn’t see my sister and he ran her over. She was pinned between two semitrucks. She worked on the floor sometimes, but also had an office. This was not part of her regular job. I don’t even think she was trained for this.”
