U. S. Steel Names New CIO
06/27/2019 - United States Steel Corporation has promoted a 10-year veteran of its information technology division as chief information officer.
In a statement, the company said Steven D. Bugajski will take on his new responsibilities on 1 July. Bugajski has been serving as interim chief information officer and general manager – global business service center following the retirement of Charles Balawajder in May.
“Steve’s depth of experience has shown that his talents, strong knowledge of our systems and insights into IT trends and opportunities that could benefit our company make him well-positioned to lead our Information Technology organization,” said U. S. Steel president and chief executive David B. Burritt.
Bugajski joined U. S. Steel in 2008 and advanced through roles with increasing responsibility in the company’s information technology group. He led the global teams for infrastructure, business processes, project management and administration, transaction processing and enterprise applications, U. S. Steel said.
