U. S. Steel Announces High-Profile Addition to Washington Office

United States Steel Corp. announced that Katie R. McCall has joined the company as Manager—Federal Governmental Affairs in its Washington, D.C., office.
 
McCall joins General Managers-—Federal Governmental Affairs Scott R. Salmon and Thomas M. Sneeringer. She will report to Senior Vice President—Public Policy and Governmental Affairs Terrence D. Straub.
 
“We are delighted to have Katie join our Governmental Affairs Department and our Washington office,” said Straub. “I've known her work for many years and have always been impressed with both her understanding of how policy is made in Washington and her personal advocacy skills. She is going to make significant contributions to the policy agenda of the company, the steel industry and American manufacturing.”
 
Prior to joining U. S. Steel, McCall served as Chief of Staff at Van Scoyoc Associates, Inc., a top-ranked lobbying firm, where she had both management and advocacy responsibilities. She previously held a number of important positions in Washington, including positions at the White House and at the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom LP, which serves as outside trade counsel to United States Steel.
 
McCall holds a bachelor's degree in managerial economics from the University of California, Davis and a master's degree in legislative affairs from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
