02/06/2017 - United States Steel Corp. said it will invest US$200 million in its mills during the next several years, reports The Times newspaper of northwest Indiana.
According to The Times, chief executive Mario Longhi told analysts last week that the company would undertake multiple smaller projects, many less than US$10 million, in an effort to improve reliability and profitability.
The integrated steelmaker announced in December that it would bring back up the idled hot strip mill at its Granite City Works in order to accommodate outages at other mills undergoing work.
