In a statement, project contractor Automazioni Industriali Capitanio (AIC) said the project included installation of new main and auxiliary drives, automation and control desks, a new safety system and new sensors. AIC also took part in the installation, supervision and commissioning phases. 

“From the beginning of the project to the end, AIC and CHS Chicago Heights Steel teams worked closely to develop the best possible solution and ensure a smooth system start-up,” the company said.
