U.S. Producers Seeking Protection From Imported Welded Steel Pipe
10/30/2015 - Four U.S. producers have filed for trade protection from imported circular welded steel pipe.
The producers, Bull Moose Tube Co., EXLTUBE, Wheatland Tube Co., and Western Tube and Conduit, are alleging dumping margins of between ranging from 10.41 percent to 119.68 percent.
The petition focuses on pipe from Oman, Pakistan, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. The petition contends that all five countries have dumped products in the U.S. It also contends that Pakistan is subsidizing exports.
The petition cover welded, carbon-quality circular steel pipe and tube with outer diameters of up to 16 406.4 mm (16 inches), regardless of wall thickness, surface finish, end finish or industry specification.
This type of pipe is generally considered to be standard pipe, fence pipe and tube, sprinkler pipe, and structural pipe.
Trade action related to circular welded pipe already has been taken against producers in China, among other places.
