U.S. Dept. of Commerce Announces Investigation into Antidumping and Countervailing Duties of Corrosion-Resistant Steel
06/25/2015 - On 24 June 2015, the United States Department of Commerce submitted announced that it will initiate antidumping duty and countervailing duty investigations of imports of corrosion-resistant steel products from China, India, Italy, Korea and Taiwain.
The petitioners for these investigations were the United States Steel Corporation, Nucor Corporation, ArcelorMittal USA, AK Steel Corporation, Steel Dynamics Inc. and California Steel Industries Inc.
The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) is scheduled to make its preliminary injury determinations on or before 20 July 2015. If the ITC determiens that there is a reasonable indication that imports of corrosion-resistant steel from the aforementioned countries materiall injure, or threaten material injusry to, the domestic industry, the investigations will continue and the Department of Commerce will make a preliminary determination on countervailing measures in August and antidumping determinations in November.
