U.S. Agency Votes to Continue Duties on Chinese Pipe for Another Five Years
11/12/2013 - As a result of the U.S. International Trade Commission's determination, import duties on steel pipe from China will remain in place.
The U.S. International Trade Commission determined that revoking the existing antidumping and countervailing duty orders on circular welded carbon-quality steel pipe from China would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time.
As a result of the Commission’s affirmative determinations, the existing orders on imports of this product from China will remain in place.
Chairman Irving A. Williamson and commissioners Shara L. Aranoff, Dean A. Pinkert, David S. Johanson, and Meredith M. Broadbent voted in the affirmative. Commissioner F. Scott Kieff did not participate in this investigation.
The action comes under the five-year (sunset) review process required by the Uruguay Round Agreements Act.
