Texas Industries, Inc. recently announced the hiring of Frederick G. Anderson for the position of Vice President and General Counsel, effective November 1, 2004.

In his new role, Mr. Anderson will provide legal leadership and direction to all of TXI’s operations. Mr. Anderson replaces Robert C. Moore who has retired after 35 years of employment with TXI.

Mr. Anderson has over twenty years of legal experience as a partner with Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld and as a General Counsel with both NYSE and NASDAQ companies including American Eagle Group, Inc. and Weblink Wireless, Inc. Mr. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with high honors and a J.D. with honors from the University of Texas.

TXI is a leading North American recycling company. In addition, TXI is also the largest producer of cement in Texas and a major producer in California.
