Turkish Producer Plans New Blast Furnace
09/17/2019 - The board at Turkey's Kardemir has OK'd plans to build a new blast furnace, a move that will lift the company's hot metal capacity by 1 million metric tons, the company has said.
In a filing with Borsa Istanbul, Turkey’s securities exchange, Kardemir said the investment is part of a larger strategy to increase the its annual steel production capacity to 3.5 million metric tons. The filing did not reveal the size of the investment.
