Tubemaker to Set Up Mill at SDI Site

In a statement, Bull Moose said the mill will produce sprinkler pipe and hollow structural sections using steel from Steel Dynamics Inc.’s Sinton, Texas, facility.

“Bull Moose Tube is excited to build in Sinton, Texas, and partner with Steel Dynamics,” said Tom Modrowski, Bull Moose president and chief executive.

The mill will make squares ranging in size from 4 inches to 14 inches as well as 5- to 18-inch rounds up to 80 feet in length. Thicknesses will range from 0.187 inch to 0.75 inch.

“It will expand our geographic footprint and allow us to better serve customers not only in the Southwest, West Coast and Mexico markets, but across the entire business,” Modrowski said.  “Expanding our capacity, capabilities and flexibility will increase Bull Moose Tube’s market share in large hollow structural section sizes and ensure our continued and expanded leadership position in the sprinkler pipe market,” he added.
