Tube City IMS Receives 48 Safety Awards from National Slag Association
10/06/2014 - Tube City IMS Corp., a provider of outsourced industrial services to steel mills globally, announced that a number of the company's sites received a total of 48 Safety Awards from the National Slag Association (NSA) for 2013, the most of any steel mill services company.
The NSA Safety Awards recognize superior performance as measured against Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable injury rates. The awards were presented to the company during the NSA's fall meeting held in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

The company's operation in Knoxville, Tenn., received the award for "2013 Most Improved Job Sites for Safety." U.S. operations that received safety awards for "Job Sites with at Least 200,000 Hours Since Last Recordable Accident" were: Beaumont, Texas; Cayce, S.C.; Gary, Ind.; Girard, Ohio; Horsham, Pa.; and Middletown. Ohio.
