Tube City IMS Receives 31 NSA Safety Awards

Tube City IMS sites have received a total of 31 Safety Awards from the National Slag Association (NSA) for 2008.
 
The awards, presented to the company during NSA’s fall meeting in Pittsburgh earlier this month, recognize superior performance as measured against Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable injury rates.
 
The company’s operation in Tuscaloosa, Ala., received the award for the “2008 Most Improved Job Sites for Safety.”
 
Operations in Beaumont, Tex., and Belle Vernon, Pa., each received two safety awards, one for “Job Sites with at Least 200,000 Hours since the Last Recordable Accident” and another for “Lowest Incident Rate” for employees.
 
Company sites in Canada receiving safety awards for “Lowest Incident Rate” for employees were L’Original, Ontario; Selkirk, Manitoba; and three sites in Hamilton, Ont.
 
Company operations in the U.S. receiving safety awards for “Lowest Incident Rate” for employees were: Fairfield, Ala.; Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; Bourbonnais, Ill.; Gary, Ind.; Rush, Ky.; Ecorse, Jackson, and Monroe, Mich.; Sayreville, N.J.; Auburn, N.Y.; Girard, Middletown, and Mingo Junction, Ohio; McMinnville, Ore.; Bridgeville, Midland, Parkesburg, and Park Hill, Pa.; Freeport and Longview, Tex.; and Saukville, Wis.
