TPC Wire & Cable Offers Cable Glands for Hazardous Locations

The glands perform in temperatures from -60°C to 105°C (-76°F to 221°F) and offer a unique clamping system which allows one grommet to support a large range of cable O.D. variance.

The National Electric Code (NEC) refers to hazardous locations as an area where fire or explosion hazards exist due to flammable gasses or vapors, flammable liquids, combustible dust or ignitable fibers or filings. TPC Wire’s cable glands have North American approval ratings — CSA, cUS, NEC — as well as European certifications — per IECEx they are dual certified for Ex-d and Ex-e environments plus meeting ATEX Standards. Additional ratings include ABS, DNV, Lloyd, Inmetro and PCT GOST.

TPC customers will benefit from the product’s durability and corrosion resistance and can be used in pumps, filters, scales, flow meters, and power supplies in oil & gas production, refineries, paint manufacturing, waste, agriculture, recycling, motion control, textile and marine applications.

“Designing products capable of standing up to uniquely harsh environments is crucial,” said Paul Barras, TPC Wire & Cable product manager. “The products we build for use in highly abusive environments must meet strict safety standards and these cable glands will meet our customer’s needs.”
