TPC Wire & Cable Develops Super-Trex® Basket-Crane Cable
04/14/2014 - TPC Wire & Cable Corp., a supplier of wire, cable and connectors, has introduced a new product to its Super-Trex® family of cables.
In response to industry demand, the Super-Trex Basket-Crane Cable was designed specifically for use on lifting equipment, spreader-cranes and gravity fed crane systems. Often called “bologna cable,” TPC Wire & Cable plans to have this product available for immediate shipping, eliminating the problem of waiting on suppliers to deliver in a timely manner.
“Our customers have often expressed how difficult it can be to procure basket-crane cable,” said David Sedivy, product manager at TPC. “Downtime is critical and by keeping this product in stock for immediate delivery, we hope to alleviate this costly production issue.”
Super-Trex Basket-Crane Cable is constructed using a heavy-duty polyurethane jacket that provides excellent protection against abrasion, chemicals and UV light, while maintaining all-weather flexibility to -40°C. An aramid fiber braid supplies additional strength and support to extend cable life. The lead-chain weights on the Super-Trex Basket-Crane Cable provide added mass and stability for the cable, allowing it to easily coil up in the basket and lend stability, especially in windy environments. The cable is an excellent choice for both indoor and outdoor applications for use in steel mills, wood and paper product manufacturing plants and shipping/container ports.
TPC Wire & Cable Corp. is a leading supplier of wire, cable and connectors used in harsh industrial environments. TPC Wire & Cable’s products are designed and engineered to withstand harsh conditions including abrasion, chemicals, constant flexing and extreme temperatures. TPC serves a variety of markets including the steel, utility, mining, automotive, food and beverage, government, oil and gas, transportation and wood, pulp and paper markets. The company’s long-lasting, dependable wire and cable products solve the most difficult application problems in the harshest environments resulting in lower overall costs and increased production time. TPC products outperform and outlast ordinary cable 10:1.
