Tosyalı Holding to Partner With Huawei and SolarAPEX on Solar Roof Project
03/14/2022 - Tosyalı Holding has announced plans to implement one of the world’s largest roof solar energy plants, in collaboration with Huawei and SolarAPEX, to continue the company's mission to reach a zero-carbon target.
Huawei, a global provider of smart products in the field of solar energy, and SolarAPEX, one of the world's leading institutions in the field of solar power plant turnkey installation services, will help Tosyalı Holding’s solar project to be state-of-the-art with panels that are not only more efficient, but take up less space. According to an official press release, the solar roof project will have a capacity of 140 MW on 632 m2 area, which will make it the one of the largest rooftop solar power plant companies in the world.
“Our Tosyalı Roof solar power plant project is the world's greatest project in its field. This project will also enable the cleanest steel production in the world, as it prevents annual carbon emissions of 116,525,000 kg. As Tosyalı Holding, our goal is to bring fossil fuel use to the lowest possible level,” said Fuat Tosyalı, chairman of the board of directors of Tosyalı Holding. “In line with this strategy, we will start to use hydrogen as a substitute for fossil fuels in iron and steel production for the first time in Turkey. We will use some of the electricity from the solar power plant we have built for these hydrogen-oriented operations. This project will be our main milestone for the zero-carbon target.”
The project is expected to be complete in spring 2023.
