Toolmaker Opens Sixth North American Service Center
08/09/2016 - An industrial engineering firm has opened its sixth North American service center in support of its machine tool business.
According to Fives Machining Systems, the service center, located in Birmingham, Ala., USA, will support its Cincinnati, Giddings & Lewis, Forest-Liné and Liné Machines products. The center will stock spare parts, repair unit assemblies, and dispatch service engineers. John D’Amato has been named the center’s director, Fives said.
“We handle machine certifications, rebuilds and control retrofits across a variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive, energy, defense and heavy equipment,” said Gary Finney, vice president and general manager of Fives Machining Systems Global Services, in a statement.
Fives Machining Systems’ North American Services centers are in Seattle, Wash.; Valencia, Calif.; Cambridge, Ont., Canada; Hebron, Ky.; and Fond du Lac, Wisc.
The new service center also will house North American Total Care, a part of Fives’ line of combustion-related equipment, and DyAG engineering services from Fives’ automation business line.
