TISCO selects Broner for Steel Plant Scheduling Extension Project
01/27/2014 - Taiyuan Iron and Steel Ltd (TISCO) has selected Broner Metals Solutions to roll out real-time caster and steel plant scheduling solutions to cover new equipment in its steelmaking plants No. 1 and No. 2 located in TaiYuan city, ShanXi province, China.
Broner has a long standing customer relationship with TISCO; its caster scheduler, melt shop control center, and schedule editor modules have been in production in TISCO’s steelmaking No. 2 North Area plant since 2006.
This initial project has assisted TISCO to improve the scheduling and management of its melt shop operations and has increased productivity, reduced costs, achieved greater production visibility, and improved the reliability of delivery dates to the rolling mills. It is expected that these benefits will also be achieved in the additional plant areas, following the completion of the extension project.
Broner will upgrade all existing solutions at the TISCO’s steelmaking plant No. 2 North Area with the latest versions of the Broner modules as part of Broner’s sustainable software technology. It will then mirror the implementation principle to cover new equipment in both the steelmaking plant No. 2 North and South Areas before rolling out to the steelmaking plant No. 1 plant. All Broner modules are to be integrated with existing SAP and MES Systems.
Broner will provide system training to enable TISCO personnel to install, configure and commission the new systems, and assist with meeting system KPI’s.
