Timken Receives $16 Million Order from Indian Railways

The Timken Co. has received a $16-million order to supply Timken® AP™ Class E bearings for use on Indian Railways passenger and freight trains. Timken has supplied India's rail system for 20 years.
 
Timken AP bearings feature a self-contained design that is pre-assembled and pre-lubricated, which helps to reduce maintenance costs, deliver more miles per bearing, and even improve fuel efficiency.
 
Indian Railways, one of the world’s largest and busiest rail networks, transports 18 million passengers and 2 million tonnes of freight each day. The state-owned railways operates both long-distance and suburban rail systems.
