The company’s supervisory board met yesterday and also appointed Osburg as chief executive starting 1 October 2021. He has served as chairman of the executive board since 1 March 2020.

By extending Bernhard Osburg’s appointment, we underline this ambition and stand by our goal to create a strong, competitive and viable steel company with sustainable products,” said Klaus Keysberg, chief financial officer of thyssenkrupp AG and chairman of the supervisory board.
 
Osburg was appointed to thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG’s executive board in June 2019.
