ThyssenKrupp Plans Addition to Executive Board
01/26/2009 - ThyssenKrupp AG confirms that talks have been held with Dr. Alan Hippe, Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of Continental AG, about joining ThyssenKrupp AG’s Executive Board.
ThyssenKrupp AG has confirmed that talks have been held with Dr. Alan Hippe (42), Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of Continental AG, about joining the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp AG.
The company’s Supervisory Board is planning to appoint Hippe as member of the Executive Board for a period of five years with effect from April 1, 2009. Once he has been appointed to the ThyssenKrupp Executive Board, Hippe will become responsible for Controlling, Accounting and Financial Reporting, Taxes, Customs and Mergers & Acquisitions and Materials Management.
Hippe will later take charge of the additional areas of Investor Relations and Corporate Finance when Dr. Ulrich Middelmann, steps down from the Executive Board at the close of ThyssenKrupp AG’s Annual General Meeting on January 21, 2010. Middelmann, who is currently Vice Chairman of the Executive Board, will be 65 on January 20, 2010.
The company said the approval of its Supervisory Board would be obtained in the next few days.
