ThyssenKrupp Makes Donation for Alabama Disaster Relief
05/04/2011 - ThyssenKrupp Steel USA is donating $10,000 on behalf of its team to the Alabama Gulf Coast Red Cross Chapter earmarked specifically for disaster relief efforts in northern Alabama as a result of recent tornadoes.
ThyssenKrupp Steel USA is donating $10,000 on behalf of its team to the Alabama Gulf Coast Red Cross Chapter earmarked specifically for disaster relief efforts taking place in northern Alabama as a result of recent tornadoes.
In addition, personnel from the company's onsite Fire and Rescue Team were dispatched to Cullman, Ala., to assist emergency responders.
The company notes that many of its team members have families, friends, and relatives who have been affected by the storms.
"As residents of the Gulf Coast, we have a special sensitivity to the destruction, danger, and disruption to lives and property related to weather disasters," said Scott Posey, Director of Communications. "Our area here on the Gulf Coast has often depended on the support and generosity of other Alabama communities in the past, and will likely do so in the future.”
