Thyssenkrupp joint venture would be 'high risk,' labor union says
04/11/2017 - Germany’s largest labor union is voicing disapproval of a potential joint venture between thyssenkrupp AG and Tata Steel, the Bloomberg news service reports.
According to Bloomberg, leaders with IG Metall said that a combination of the companies’ steel businesses would be a “high risk” move for thyssenkrupp.
Tata Steel has been in talks with thyssenkrupp about combining its European strip business with thyssenkrupp’s steel mills in a joint venture, a strategy to survive amid global excess capacity.
