thyssenkrupp Installs New Leadership Team at Steel Unit
09/26/2024 - thyssenkrupp has appointed a new leadership team for its European steel unit following last month’s departure of several executives.
thyssenkrupp Materials Services chief executive officer Ilse Henne has been named chairwoman of thyssenkrupp Steel Europe’s supervisory board, and Knut Giesler, district manager of IG Metall North Rhine-Westphalia, is the board’s new deputy chairman for the employee side.
Also, Marie Jaroni has been named to the executive board as chief transformation officer. In addition, the supervisory board has confirmed Dennis Grimm as executive board spokesman and Philipp Conze as chief financial officer.
Jaroni previously served as executive vice president for steel at thyssenkrupp AG. She will begin her new duties on 1 October and will be responsible for strategic development as well as for the performance-oriented management of the company, with a focus on enhanced competitiveness, thyssenkrupp said.
Grimm will assume overall operational responsibility as well as the technological management and development of the company. He also will be in charge of the technological implementation of the company’s green transformation.
“The realignment of thyssenkrupp Steel is making progress,” Henne said in a statement.
“With the new appointments to the supervisory board and executive board, we want to address the major challenges of structural realignment, independence and the green transformation together. The task now is to set the course for a successful future for the company together with thyssenkrupp AG and the employee representatives. The remaining vacancies on the Executive Board will be announced as soon as possible.”
