ThyssenKrupp Holds Jobs Fair in Mobile County

ThyssenKrupp Steel USA and ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA held a jobs fair this week at the MOWA Band of Choctaw Indians tribal office in Mount Vernon, Ala. Applicants interested in both salaried and hourly employment were encouraged to apply.

“We are reaching out to our neighboring communities,” said Scott Posey, Director of Communications for ThyssenKrupp Steel USA. “ThyssenKrupp will be a citizen of Mobile and Washington Counties for many, many years to come. We chose this area to build our facility. We want to give our new neighbors the opportunity to choose us for a new career.”

The companies held jobs fairs last month in Camden, Ala., and in September in Monroeville and Jackson, Ala.

ThyssenKrupp
is investing $4.65 billion to construct two state-of-the-art carbon steel and stainless steel processing facilities in Calvert, Ala., both of which are scheduled to begin operations in 2010. When fully operational, they will provide the NAFTA market with 5.1 million tonnes of high quality value-added products for customers in the automotive, construction, pipe and tube, service center, and appliance industries.
