thyssenkrupp Cuts the Ribbon on New Hot-Dip Line
10/13/2022 - thyssenkrupp has inaugurated a EUR250 million hot-dip galvanizing line that will make the company’s Dortmund, Germany, facility a manufacturing center for premium galvanized flat steels.
According to thyssenkrupp, the line, dubbed FBA10, is capable of producing more than 600,000 metric tons annually. It will serve the home appliance and automotive industries.
“The FBA10 line will enable us to differentiate ourselves even more decisively from the competition through the quality of our products. With the completion of this major investment, we have implemented another key project in our strategy for the future,” said thyssenkrupp executive board chairman Bernhard Osburg.
The line is the second hot-dip line at the plant, which now has a total capacity of around 1 million metric tons per year. With work complete, the line will enter technical start up in the next few weeks, thyssenkrupp said.
