thyssenkrupp Board Launches Effort to Replace Its Top Executive
09/26/2019 - thyssenkrupp’s board of directors is moving to oust chief executive Guido Kerkhoff, who has held the job for nearly one year.
In a statement Tuesday, the company said the board's personnel committee has recommending that negotiations begin to end his mandate. He is to be temporarily succeeded by board chairman Martina Merz.
German broadcaster Deutsche Welle said media reports suggested the board was dissatisfied with Kerkhoff’s management of the manufacturer during a time of falling profits and rising steel imports from Asia.
