The Techs Engineer Named ASTM Committee Chair
04/15/2016 - Margaret A. Farabaugh, a technical services engineer for hot-dipped galvanizer The Techs, has been named chairperson of ASTM international committee A05 on metallic-coated iron and steel products, the standards maker has announced.
Formed in 1906, the committee has more than 270 members from 21 countries. It has eight technical subcommittees that oversee more than 70 standards related to metallic-coated iron and steel products.
Farabaugh is a 12-year member of ASTM.
She has been with The Techs since 2001 and previously worked as a project manager at USX Engineers & Consultants Inc. Farabaugh holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh.
Based in southwestern Pennsylvania, The Techs is a division of Steel Dynamics Inc.
