The Scoop on ArcelorMittal's New Stacker Reclaimer? It's Now Up and Running, Contractor Says
12/01/2016 - Industrial contractor MC Industrial Inc. announced that it has wrapped up installation of a new stacker reclaimer at ArcelorMittal’s Burns Harbor mill in Indiana.
The 1,700 ton machine was supplied by Germany’s FAM and replaces one that had collapsed in 2014.
“MC Industrial’s technical expertise in stacker reclaimers and work history at the ArcelorMittal Burns Harbor site gave our team a solid foundation on this project from the start,” said MC Industrial project director Phil Radin in a statement.
“Our team took a turnkey approach with the supplier and owner, communicating directly with FAM and ArcelorMittal throughout each phase of the project to ensure the construction objectives and ArcelorMittal’s overall business objectives were met successfully,” he said.
The Times newspaper of northwest Indiana reported that the project cost US$24.4 million and is among US$51.2 million in investments made there this year.
